Days 65 to 72

The Bruins break 100 points and Bondra scores 50 and then some.

First though, a little rant about this trade veto nonsence.  What you guys don't seem to understand is that when Scruffy decides to put a trade to veto vote, it's for the best of the league.  His acting in the league's best interests, not for his own personal gain.  The trades are vetod to keep some sort of fairness in the league.  Also, Montreal was being taken to school.  It's been proven that to get 2 70 FB guys for a 110 FB doesn't work, especially when one of the guys is Semak.  On the the GLHL This Week:

Overall: OTTAWA SENATORS.  The Sens went 6-1-0 in 7 games to put some pressure on the top teams.  The play has been flawless and the Sens allowed no more then one goal in the last 6 games (5 wins).
Offence: VANCOUVER CANUCKS.  These guys continue to snipe as they win the Offence title for the second week in a row.  The Nucks had 35 goals in 7 games (5 GFA).
Defence: OTTAWA SENATORS.  Except for a bad defensive game against the Leafs the Sens were playing great D this week.  They allowed only 14 goals in 7 games (2 GAA).  However the 9-8 win over the Leafs offsets that number.  Without that game the Sens had a stingy 1.00 GAA.

Pierre Turgeon, OTTAWA.  Turgeon has stepped up his play over the second half of this season despite losing his long time linemate Owen Nolan.  But Turgeon shines with Khristich and had 15 points in 7 games (6 goals, 9 assists).  He was a +9 and had 22 shots.  He scored twice on the PP and had a game winner.  Turgeon is GLHL's PLAYER OF THE WEEK for games 65-72.
Ron Francis, FLORIDA.  Francis could be the first GLHL player to hit 100 points this season.  He is tied with Linden for the scoring title right now, both sit 2 shy of 100.  In 7 games this week he had 13 points (9 of which were assists).  He was a +7.
Jaromin Jagr, PITTSBURGH.  This is the first we've really seen of Jagr as his name has been missing from the leaderboard all season long (and still is).  With questionable management in Pittsburgh he is doing quite well considering his line is weak.  This week, he netted 6 goals and added 6 assists in 7 games.  His team went below 500 and Jagr was a +3.  He scored shorthanded and got a game winner.
Honourable Mention: Bondra (50 goals guy), Yzerman, Linden, Dawe.

Phil Housley, FLORIDA.  Housley had 9 points in this sim, as he jumped onto the leaderboard of defenceman scoring.  He had 4 goals and 5 assists on 20 shots.  He was +6 with 2 PP markers and a game winner.
Ray Bourque, BOSTON.  In only 5 games Bourque had 7 points.  He scored only once and added 6 assists.  His lone goal came on the PP and he was a +3.  Bourque is now 5th in dman scoring but is merely 2 points out of 2nd behind Sydor, Coffey and Chelios.
Honourable Mention: Boris Mironov, Chelios.

Byron Dafoe, OTTAWA SENATORS.  For the second time this season Dafoe is goalie of the week.  He had a shock off the start as he allowed 8 goals in the first game of the week against Toronto.  But it seemed to make him play better then ever.  Over the next 6 games he did wonders for his season totals.  He allowed but 6 goals in 6 games.  His GAA was a stellar 1.02 and his save percentage a .930.  Dafoe is showing his true colours for Ottawa and trying to stay part of a repeat-calliber team.
Honourable Mention: Hodson, Detroit.
